What Are the Hazards, Risks, And Danger of Electricity?

Electricity is very important factor in such modern world. The country who develop more electricity they are most developed country in the world.

What is electricity?

Electricity is the physical circumstances which is associated with the presence and motion of electric charge. It is the form of energy that existence of electron and proton themselves when electricity flow it is called as electric current.

Now we coming to the topic title of hazards, risks and danger of electricity most of the accident and incidents happening in electricity due to poor understanding of electric current.

First know about hazard and risk of electricity so that major consequences could prevent before it attains.

Common hazards, risks and danger of electricity in domestic and Industrial area:

  • Wiring
  • High Voltage Lines
  • Electric Shock
  • Burns
  • Fire & Explosion
  • Arching

Wiring:

Proper wiring should be done all over the building and earth

High Voltage Lines:

High voltage lines are serious hazards that occurs severe consequences.

Electric shock:

Electric shock occurs when a person touches a live surface and electrical current passes through their body. When a person receives on electric shock and it’s have various range of effects.

Now we can see various range of effects that causes due to current flowing through the body.

  • 5 – 2 mA    –  Shock Sensation
  • 2-10 mA   –  Tingling sensations, muscle tremor, painful sensations
  • 10-60 mA    –  Muscle contractions, inability to move, inability to breath
  • 60 and above – Ventricular fibrillation, cardiac arrest, extreme muscle constrictions.

Less than 0.5 to 2 Ma current flow it gives no sensation is felt by the person who receiving the shock.

Electrical Burns:

There are two types of electric burn will accrue during the electrical accidents.

Direct Electric Burns:

When current causes overheating as it passes through the skin and the internal tissue of the body.

Indirect electric Burns:

Dropping a metal onto a high voltage cable can cause a short circuit resulting in a flash of radiant heat and explosion.

Electrical Fires:

Electricity can cause fire in electrical equipment due to faulty and over as a result and the system may be over loaded and equipment may be operated wrongly.

Arcing:

Arcing is where electricity jumps across an air gap. For example, arching arising while operating portable drilling machines

Some of the dangerous activities are includes in danger of electricity as follows,

  • Work near overhead power lines
  • Contact with underground power cables
  • Work on mains electricity supplies
  • Use of electrical equipment in wet environments

If someone receives electric shocks don’t touch them than electric shock will pass through them into you.

If you find any damaged and downed electrical cable line don’t ignore it always consider it should be live and cause electric shock.
